Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, commonly abbreviated as DSIP and also referred to as emideltide, is a synthetic nonapeptide with the amino-acid sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. It was originally identified during experimental research involving sleep-associated electroencephalographic activity.
In controlled laboratory environments, DSIP may be investigated in connection with peptide signaling, electrophysiological activity, circadian models, neuroendocrine pathways, neurotransmitter-related processes, cellular stress responses, and experimental sleep research.

Published studies have explored DSIP in relation to sleep patterns, hormonal activity, behavioral responses, pain-related models, and other neurological or physiological processes. However, its natural occurrence, biological role, and mechanism of action remain incompletely characterized, and the available literature does not establish consistent clinical effects.
Claims that DSIP reliably induces deep sleep, regulates melatonin or cortisol, treats insomnia, reduces anxiety, relieves chronic pain, prevents dependency, protects neurons, stabilizes mitochondria, or treats neurodegenerative or stress-related disorders have been omitted. Such statements could imply established therapeutic efficacy or intended human use, which has not been demonstrated.
DSIP is not an FDA-approved drug in the United States. FDA reviewed emideltide-related bulk substances, including emideltide free base and emideltide acetate, in connection with the federal pharmacy-compounding framework in July 2026. That regulatory consideration does not constitute FDA approval or establish that independently supplied DSIP material is safe, effective, sterile, or suitable for administration.
The terms DSIP, emideltide, emideltide acetate, and chemically modified DSIP analogs should not automatically be treated as interchangeable. Sequence, salt form, terminal modifications, purity, molecular identity, and composition should be verified through batch-specific analytical documentation.
Storage & handling
Before reconstitution. Keep the sealed vial cool and dark. Lyophilized peptides are stable this way for the period stated on the certificate.
Reconstitution. Add bacteriostatic water slowly against the inside wall of the vial. Swirl gently to dissolve — never shake, as agitation can damage the peptide chain.
After reconstitution. Store refrigerated and use within the window appropriate for the compound under study. Do not freeze once in solution.
